What a fantastic home base for exploring Dumgete and Cebu. We loved our stay at Salaya. The food was exceptional, the staff are amazingly attentive, the excursions were top notch. The dive boat to Apo leaves right off the shore of the resort. Truly a little paradise found.Posted on Google![]()

The hotel itself looks beautiful and is located a bit far from the city. The pool is excellent & the food + the restaurant-staff were fantastic. However, our room unfortunately spoiled the overall impression. Starting the next day the room began to smell terribly. It was clear that there was a serious drainage problem that the staff were unable to resolve. & we didn't get any compensation..so the last day ended horribly.Posted on Google![]()

Update-As per the previous review we returned May 30- June 6’25 and we did NOT have torrential rain. We did a day trip to Apo island which is known for its turtles. I also did a day trip to the Majumod sandbar. We did some local dives and saw incredible creatures in the muck. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive and just lovely people. The resort is beautiful. The owners dive with us a couple of times and helped point out interesting critters. We were thrilled and felt blessed that we could go back. Who knows we may even do it again. I definitely would recommend this resort for anyone who wants to explore the sea or just relax in peace and surrounded by beautiful nature. I stayed at Salaya beach houses from Sept 13-20/24. It was an amazing experience despite the typhoon weather that disrupted our planned activities. That obviously is not the weather's fault. We had been on a Liveaboard dive boat the previous 10 days and that had been booked 2 years in advance, rainy season aside. Anyway we settled in to enjoy the beauty and relaxation of this incredible place. All staff were amazing. There were very few quests due to the weather. We had great spa treatments. The food was amazing and made to order and even delivered to your room if you wished. The infinity pool is gorgeous and despite the crazy weather we still took some swims daily. The owners and all staff were appreciative and accommodating. Although we did not dive from the resort the coast guard only opened for boats on Wed of our week so we decided just to continue our relaxation. For sure we will be planning to go back and have already started to plan out a trip to include several islands. For sure diving from Salayas will be a goal next trip. App island is very close and we wish to go back as the corals and fish were multicoloured and plentiful when we dove from the Liveaboard. There is also a day trip to Oslob to see whalesharks if people wish to experience that. Thanks to Jody and Mike for sharing stories.Posted on Google![]()

We visited Salaya Beach Houses for a day trip with my family, and it was a wonderful experience. Although we only did a day use, everything exceeded our expectations. The place is peaceful and well-maintained, with a relaxing atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the large swimming pool and the overall serene vibe of the resort. Definitely a place we’d love to come back to, maybe for an overnight stay next time!
