Salaya Beach Houses is a Gay Friendly Resort

We stayed at Salaya Beach Houses in August 2017 and really enjoyed our stay. Located on the beach in a beautiful part of Dumaguete, we enjoyed all the spoils of this part of the world: beautiful sunsets, paddle boarding at sunrise, scuba diving at world class sites and cocktails at the pool bar. There are many places in South East Asia that offer these holiday treats.

There is, however, something special we want to share about our stay at Salaya. I’m in a long term gay relationship and my partner and I really appreciated the warm, open and inclusive treatment we enjoyed from all the staff at Salaya. We had lovely friendly, warm and fun interactions with everyone who clearly acknowledged and respected our ‘difference’.

I took loads of great photos on my SLR, but I can’t share any on this post because I seem to have lost my memory card ? – the lovely folk at Salaya offered me this photo to use for my guest post, and it sums up their warm attitude towards gay travellers. Love it.

It means a lot to us to just be ourselves.
