Yoga
Salaya is the perfect location for experienced yogis or beginners. You can work individually with our experienced Instructor, take a group class, or enjoy a quiet practice whenever you like.
We generally practice Iyengar inspired Hatha yoga where emphasis is given to precision and alignment in postures and the use of props such as bolsters, belts and blocks helps us achieve this with ease and allows us to stay in the postures for longer to restore the body and bring about emotional stability and clarity of mind. Our practice is tailored to the needs of each guest to ensure you have the best experience.

About our Yogini
Our full-time resident Yoga Instructor Laura Pearce trained at the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Center in India where she mastered the art of yoga with Master Sharat Arora. Laura has been practicing yoga for over 13 years.
Whilst Laura now focuses on Iyengar yoga, she is also experienced in Ashtanga, Yin, Bikram and Vinyasa - and can appreciate the benefits of all. Laura says that the Iyengar emphasis on precision and alignment to remove tensions and imbalances, to restore the body and mind, have been the most powerful and transformational for her.
I feel so lucky to be able to combine my experiences from both diving and yoga to develop a deeper sense of well being and connectedness to our environment. Diving down to the hidden depths of the ocean in a complete state of peace and a feeling of being at one with with nature, we can find bliss - a gift worth sharing Laura Pearce, Dive & Yoga Instructor
Yoga and Diving
Beginners and experienced divers alike can benefit from the breathing techniques and poses practiced in Yoga. Diving and yoga hold synergies as they both encourage the practice of a fuller and more complete life by venturing out into another existence.
Learn to control your breathing underwater and dive to greater depths as you improve your overall physical and emotional well being. The physical yoga postures relieve tensions in your body from carrying tanks and weight belts. When your body is more relaxed and your breathing balanced, your dives become more enjoyable and you'll have an even more positive dive experience.
